When Should Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT SRT Belts & Hoses be Replaced?

1. When You See the Signs it's Time

They're similar, no matter what you drive. Consider Chrysler Voyager, for instance. When its belts and hoses go bad, you might notice more than obvious looseness or damage. You may also hear screeching or chirping noises, see fluid leaks, run into battery and lighting trouble, and even have your engine misfire and overheat. Run an inspection to figure out which belt or hose may be the problem.

2. When You Hit Certain Mileages and Years

You'll find these benchmarks in your owner's manual's maintenance schedules. Serpentine belts, for example, you change every 90,000 miles or so, in most cases. Most timing belts, on the other hand, get replaced every 60,000 to 90,000 miles. Timing chains, though, are usually built to last an engine's lifetime; you usually don't need to change one (although they can sometimes break). Most hoses, in contrast, get swapped out every 4 years.

3. Before Costs Skyrocket

See a bunch of symptoms at once? Coming up on maintenance deadlines? Take care of things ASAP. Serpentine belts and brake hoses may be cheaper fixes, running a couple hundred CAD on average, but other belts and hoses? They only get pricier from there. Fuel hoses, for one, can go for $680 CAD on average. Radiator hoses, $735 to $845 CAD. Timing belts, $815 to $1,070 CAD or more, and so on.

At any rate, be sure you use OEM parts for replacements. A Mopar service centre can help.

Why Buy OEM Belts & Hoses vs. Aftermarket?

As they're genuine Mopar, they'll fit your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, FIAT, or SRT right and work better the first time. Plus, they'll be warranty-backed, and they won't void your factory warranty, like some aftermarket belts and hoses can end up doing. Most importantly, they'll be top-quality.
